What to do when it rains on your wedding day

The Beauty of Your Wedding Day: Embracing Rain!

Every couple imagines their perfect wedding day to be filled with sunshine, blue skies, and gentle breezes. However, Mother Nature occasionally has different ideas, as rains begin to fall from the sky. As a wedding photographer, I've discovered that while rain on your wedding day could seem like an unwelcome guest, it can actually produce some of the most treasured and magical moments. In this blog, I'll offer some helpful advice on how to enjoy the rain on your special day by learning to embrace it.

1. Stay Positive and Flexible:

According to a saying, "When life gives you rain, dance in the puddles." It's important to keep a good outlook when unexpected weather occurs. Accept the romantic charm that rain might bring to your wedding and be flexible with your planning. Remember that struggle only makes love shine brighter.

2. Plan for Rain:

Although you have no control over the weather, you can still plan for it. Create a "Plan B" that accounts for rain by working with your wedding coordinator or the venue. Indoor locations for the ceremony, reception, and photographs may be included. some venues have umbrellas available for you and your visitors. Some photographers like myself always have umbrellas available for some of your wedding photographs if you distill want outdoor photographs or couple photographs. Your wedding photographs could become more elegant by using stylish, matching umbrellas.

3. Embrace the Beauty of Rainy Backdrops:

An ordinary wedding venue can become a magical wonderland when it rains. Rain offers the kind of soft, diffused lighting that photographers adore. Photographs taken in this setting often have a dreamlike quality because of the wet grounds and shimmering greenery. Creative use of the reflections and puddles is possible for artistic photographs. As a wedding photographer myself I love a rain photograph, only if your happy to go outside in the rain!

4. Trust Your Photographer:

A talented wedding photographer knows how to capture the beauty of any kind of weather. Put your faith in their knowledge and creativity. They'll know how to take advantage of the rain and create unforgettable experiences that you'll treasure always. You'll be taken aback by the outcomes if you let them direct you and your partner during the shoot.

5. Invest in Waterproof Attire:

Having waterproof clothing on hand is a smart idea when rain is expected. Choose a fashionable, transparent raincoat for your bridal gown. It will not only safeguard your gown but also give your pictures a special touch. To be dry and attractive, grooms may want to think about wearing elegant rain boots or a sleek rain jacket.

6. Use Props and Accessories:

When it's raining, it's the perfect time to use cute accessories and props in your wedding photos. Your photographs can have some unique flair by using bright rain boots, transparent umbrellas, or even silly rain hats. Don't be scared to use your imagination and enjoy the fun aspects of your special day.

7. Seize the Moment:

Rain can lead to unplanned and private moments. Utilise the weather to have some cosy, romantic dates with your partner while hiding behind an umbrella. The photographs will capture the happiness and fun shared throughout these times, leaving you with lasting reminders of your wedding day.

Even though it's normal to hope for ideal weather on your wedding day, accepting the rain might result in priceless moments and stunning photos. You may turn a typical rainy day into a stunning and lovely celebration of love by remaining upbeat, being prepared, and having faith in your photographer. Keep in mind that your wedding day is a special story, and the possibility of rain might add a surreal, enchanting chapter that you'll treasure always. So, instead of letting the rain make you feel down, dance in it to make lifelong memories.
